As part of the 1in8 Foundation's determination to educate younger people about breast
cancer and to make them aware of the critical necessity for early detection, we have created
the Great University Build - Off. College and university engineering, design and industrial design
departments from all over the world are being approached, each to build and donate a vehicle to
the 1in8 Motorsports Series. These vehicles will be auctioned off, at the end of each year, and 75%
of the proceeds from the sale of each vehicle will be retained by the 1in8. The remaining 25% will be
gifted back to each participating school to continue to grow their own design and engineering departments.

The 1in8 is also fortunate to have Dr. Tom Pollard, a legend in the Chicago area motorsports
industry, serving as our Build Captain. In this capacity, he will assist each school and help search
for parts for each build. We are also hoping that many schools will consider making the Great University
Build - Off a credit-bearing class, perhaps for their graduate students. Awards will be given to schools in a variety
of categories and those entries will be judged by automotive industry professionals. We are also presently in conversation
with two major cable networks about the possibility of making the Great University Build - Off a television series. Should this come
to fruition, it will be yet another way to spotlight participating schools. If you know of a college or university that might like to participate in
